Nice test

Super simple, but it's good to see more coders being born. :) Not much else to say really - although the acceleration effect of the character falling is good.

I'm glad you enjoyed it even if it was for only mere seconds. :)

Mmm... Wow. This game rocks my world. WHY is this not #1? I knew this game was going to rock as soon as I tried jumping, and noticed that you emulated the Mega Man physics perfectly! That is, the longer you hold the jump button, the higher you jump. The game is worth it, if anything, for the final fight with Samus. makes me wish Mega Man was in the Super Smash Bros series =)

TIP for beating Samus: Stay on the small platform in the center of the room. Samus usually (usually. Not always. Damn good A.I.!) just jumps straight up and gives you an oppurtunity to fire a charged shot. Samus took me 3 tries. I only beat her by camping on the little platform =P

I am REALLY looking forward to a sequel! Have Mega Man fight Mario or Kid Icarus next. You could make a sequel where he fights Kid Icarus farily easily I assume, since Metriod and Icarus's level designs are so similar. Plus, you already have the programming and scripting done and you can reuse some of that, can you not? I wouldn't know... I can't program to save my life =( I can only dream of having the skills to make a game such as this. YOU, sir, put the "GAME" in "FAN GAME". Keep it up!

Almost perfect

I love the game, but it could use some changes:

1) Looped music
2) Faster gun control
3) Mario should shoot bullet bills instead of a silver line
4) More enemies
5) Have the Koopa Paratroopas swoop down at you
6) Levels
7) A goal to the game

Pretty good

The game itself is ok, but like everyone says, nothing special. Kirby is drawn well, but then again everyone can draw Kirby (even me... ouch). The 2nd level is impossible BTW. I collect every star and still die.

Good for a first movie.

Don't let other reviews discourage you. That was ok for a first movie/game. Only thing to do now is get better!

I love this game!

I love it! The art, sound, progamming, it's all very well done. And what's cool is, the game itself is sort of neutral. Anti-Pokemon AND Pro-Pokemon people can both enjoy this.

For all you guys having trouble defeating Bushosaur, use Pee Wee Hermander's laugh attack. It could paralyze Bushosaur and stop him from using Smoke.

Once again, I say this game rocks. You must be a pokemone fanatic yourself to make it so close to the game. I hope you make a 2nd one with some of the other Celebemon in it. (Only half the Celebemon mentioned in the Celebedex actually appear in the game, unless I missed something)

Good job!

=(

The 3rd part left a horrible, frustrated taste in my mouth. Was that Golden Axe? I couldn't get past the two big red knights with swords. They keep cornering me...

But the parts before that are great! It's just too bad the PPG killed Sparkster...

Pointless.

This "game" is pointless. All this guy did was put all of Capcom's songs into one big movie, and actually call it his movie. You barley did anything except organize the buttons to play each song. And the songs themselves aren't good quality either! You can hear Megaman teleport into the stage at the start of each song. Haven't you heard of NSF files?

Maybe if you had made each robot master dance to his respective theme, or added SOMETHING, it would be decent, but this is just a waste of space! Any joe schmoe can download an NES emulator and a few roms, and then jam away to the music. Smarter people can even download the NSF files and listen to these great songs without playing the games or waiting for a shiddy "game" like this to load. NSF files are very small. Megaman 1,2 and 3's NSF files and the program to play them would be less than 1000K total.

Tell me, everyone, would you rather wait for a 4 Megabyte movie to load and listen to horrible quality versions of these tracks, or spend a few minutes searching for and downloading NSFs, which play the music tracks at the best quality possible, even better than an actual NES system.

As I said, this whole "game" is a complete waste of Newground's precious bandwidth. After seeing Link's Quest for Ass (which was hilarious, by the way), I was expecting better from you. AT LEAST I can give you some points for effort, it must have taken a while to record all these songs from your NES and make them loop and play right, etc...

At least Heatman is in it...

xritualfaminex responds:

wow, that was a mouthful.

I realize that this wasnt incredibly complex and that tons of effort was not put into this. But if any Joe Schmoe could do this, then why hasnt it been done before?.. eh?

You give many valid points, the quality could not have been very good as i had to cram 22 seperate wav files into a 4 megabyte package.

I didn't even know NSF files existed, so i thank you for the info.

I'm sorry this didnt do it for you, i'm glad you liked Link's Quest though.

loved it!

Personally, I really enjoy this. The little zero running in air and the music make for a HILARIOUS game! Hahahahha! Look at him go! Hehehehe! And for your first game, its amazing! I couldn't make anything like this. I suck at scripting.

Pretty good

The Mega Man theme for this is kinda stretched. I get the feeling you made it Mega Man related only to get more reactions, with all the Mega Man movies floating around these days (I think I started a Mega Man popularity trend...). But if you take away the MM theme you get a nice shooter game. As for the story... well I stopped playing at the paper fish boss 'cause it was getting a little annoying. So I can't really give ideas for the plot yet.

But...

Have them save Mega Man, only to have him stolen again by Jawas in a Sand Crawler! How about that?

Good Game overall, but the Mega Man parts seems a little forced. Speaking of Mega Man...

Can I finally have a collection page for my Heat Man movies? They're great movies (ask anyone who has seen 'em), they just don't get enough attention. Oh crap... I just inadvertaintly put in a advertisment for my movies. sorry -_- . Yeah... OK game, and please make a Heat Man series or collection page! Thanks!

Feel free to send me an Email or IM. I'll do my best to answer any questions :)
